Here is one of the most famous statues representing Mercury. The sculptor is Giambologna (Jean de Bologne), who made several verison of this statue. His main invention, in this case, is the fact that the whole bronze statue rests on one foot. The god is "floating" on the air breathed by Zephyrus and from the movement of the body, the whole statue seems to be floating in the air.
